Lottery - Is it really helping education? Why do you Relay?
Apr 20

All through Columbus County’s 2007 Relay for Life event (held at Southeastern Community College) on April 20-21, The News Reporter team is asking people to “Tell Us Why You Relay.” Keep visiting this blogspot site. As we can, we’ll post some of the answers we get.

Here’s the first one from Herb Washington of U.S. Cellular. We saw his smiling face out here in the very beginning hours of the community’s annual event to: raise awareness of and money for the fight against cancer.

Herb wrote:

“I’ve been given information that’s not for me alone. “My” experience are everyone’s experiences, so I “Relay” for those to whom it concerns. Life concerns everyone, and the THIEVES of life (ignorance, in-difference, and such like) will life. So I walk, we walk. I learn, we learn. I Relay because “He” Lives.
